Transport

Lochcarron is located on the west coast about 65 miles west of Inverness.

Air

The nearest airport is Dalcross, about eight miles east of Inverness. Scheduled flights include Easyjet services to and from London Gatwick and London Heathrow.

Rail

The nearest rail link is at the village of Strathcarron, 3½ miles from Lochcarron. This is on the spectacular Inverness–Kyle of Lochalsh line.

Ferry

The ferry terminal for Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis is at Ullapool, about 60 miles away. There's an alternative crossing to Tarbert on Harris, leaving Uig on the Isle of Skye.

Bus

There is a twice-weekly bus service to Inverness. Services run on Wednesday and Saturday, departing from the village hall on Main Street. Other local services go to neighbouring villages. In each case, you need to book a seat in advance. Enquire at the Lochcarron Garage.
